Late Summer Labs

The studio

Late Summer Labs is a one-person software studio. I've been making software for more than two decades, and this studio is where I build the things I wish existed.

Everything here is citizen-scale: tools made for hundreds or thousands of people, free or close to it, designed so one person can maintain them for a long time. Nothing here needs to grow to survive. There are no investors and no plan to sell.

Each project picks a fight worth having. Cold War Tech preserves history that is fading from the public record. Historic Marker keeps track of the plaques and monuments we walk past every day. Bill Healer helps people push back on medical bills and insurance denials. Some projects are sketches, others are further along, and every listing says which honestly.

The same rules apply to all of them: no ads, no tracking beyond a simple page count, no selling data, and no using your content to train AI models. The rules came first. The projects are built to fit them.

If you want to talk, email hello@latesummerlabs.com. I read everything.
